The article presents the outcome of the work aimed at defining an ontological model for the representation of the Risk Map for Historic Centres with a view to investigating what further areas can be reached by enhancing the interoperability of the system. Starting from the Conservation Process Model (CPM), conceived as an extension of the CIDOC-CRM, for the conceptual representation of the process of architectural conservation, the research has developed the formalization of new classes and properties, to complete the existing ones, and the definition of a series of other entities for the representation of the more specific aspects, collected in a domain ontology (CdRont). The specific needs of representation have led to the configuration of a model with a triple structure deriving from the three macro areas represented: the depiction of the built heritage, the description of its transformations and the critical assessment of the architectural consistency with respect to vulnerability. This structure is composed of a system of mereological and topological relationships, aimed at describing architecture and the connections with its context, of specific properties that explain the urban and architectural features through vocabularies consolidated within the discipline and, finally, of the use of the inferential logical capacity of ontology, capable of integrating quantitative, numerical information, with interpretative data.
