Among the lines of action foreseen for the reorganization of the Mibac (D.M. 23 January 2016, n. 44), the integration between culture and tourism plays a leading role in the enhancement of cultural heritage, also trough the creation of regional museum centres, aimed at promoting a fruitful dialogue between the institution and the territory. The essay focuses on an interesting example of collaboration between the Superintandence for Cultural Heritage of the province of Reggio Calabria and the local administration of Bova, a small historical centre in the province of Reggio Calabria. Bova is the capital of the Grecanic area, a territory in the south part of the Metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, strongly characterized by the presence of Greeks in the past and the persistence of neo-Greek language and traditions. The strong sense of identity of inhabitants triggered, since the end of the 90s, a process of re-launch of the village with interventions aimed, not only at the restoration of the historic centre, but also the protection of the landscape and the Greek-Calabrian language.
