Abstract
This volume consists of three complementary parts. The second part then shifts focus to a systematic comparison. It examines both the process of “creative” reworking of the Calabrian views in the Voyage pittoresque and offers a direct comparison between the latter, crystallised and almost idealised by Claude-Louis Châtelet and Louis-Jean Desprez, and current images of the same places. This is supplemented by a comparative analysis of the progressive and changing transformations recorded in the territory. Calabria has undergone significant changes in its landscape and urban dimension, which have contributed to altering and transforming the identity of these places, as we can observe today by retracing that itinerary.Downloads
